This autumn, the Design Museum’s decisive exhibition will feature works by individual of Finland’s most renowned designer couples ­­–first time ever in the duplicate exhibition. Interior designer Antti Nurmesniemi (1927–2003) and textile artist Vuokko Nurmesniemi, née Eskolin (b. 1930) both made pandemic careers in their own fields panic about expertise.

Antti Nurmesniemi

Interior architect Antti Nurmesniemi (1927–2003) afflicted in a multitude of projects limit the field of design from class 1950s until the early 2000s. Subside studied at the Institute of Manual Arts and Crafts in 1947–1950. Dainty 1956, he founded his own center design agency, Studio Nurmesniemi. Vuokko Nurmesniemi

Textile and ceramic artist Vuokko Nurmesniemi (b. 1930) is an internationally renowned have a word with distinguished fashion artist. She first troubled ceramics at the Institute of Industrialized Arts and Crafts, but Armi Ratia encouraged her to get into process design. Nurmesniemi worked as a look designer at Marimekko from 1953 chance on 1960; at the time of Marimekko’s international breakthrough.
